Hello y’all
I get asked fairly often why/what’s behind the Burnsville name? Well there’s a little story if ya care to read, it’s not very long, since you asked …
My sister made this sign for my mom for Christmas one year, when we were kids, and it was on the kitchen wall for as long as I can remember. My mom cherished it.
When my mom passed away. I got the sign.

Then by coincidence, after being in the paint & construction trades most of my life, my body said enough! So, I had to reinvent myself. Somehow, I got into the Sign Business and T-Shirt printing and eventually opened up my own shop.
After brainstorming for a name for my shop, I looked at my sign, that was now on my kitchen wall and said Burnsville Sign Works. “It’s a sign” that named my “Sign Business”,

Then in 2006 when we started getting a serious band together, we were looking for a name. My last name is Burns, so there it was, the name presented itself again. Since we were a pretty smoking rocking blues band, that could burn the roof off a joint was seemingly an appropriate name, And so it was...
The Burnsville Band was it!
I’m kinda sentimental, so what confirmed it for me was, as a tribute to my mom who was so dearly loved. She got me guitar lessons when I was a kid and if she paid for the lessons, I had to promise I would practice, so I did. She was all over me!. I couldn’t do anything until I practiced, did my homework and did my chores, I had to practice at least a half hour every day, Which inevitably planted the seed in me to keep playing because I actually started getting better.
As it turned out that I wanted be a career musician. Without her I might’ve turned out differently. I wasn’t a particularly easy youngster to say the least, who knows? I'm so grateful to her and my brother for teaching me some chords and making me want to play guitar in the first place.
So there ya have it.
